One of my favorite ways to give back to my community and display my appreciation for their support is by hosting my pizza socials. Making homemade pizza and calzones and providing a comfortable atmosphere for my guests is always a great way to connect with my local committee people, county elected officials, and citizens of Franklin.
The pizza social that took place on the evening of October 14th was a great success, as there were over 75 guests in attendance, including Somerset County Democratic Chairwoman Peg Schaffer, Somerset County Sheriff Darrin Russo, Somerset County Clerk Steve Peter, and Franklin Township Democratic Chairman Ron Jordan.
Nights like this are cherished, as it gives committee people the opportunity to speak with their county leaders about key community issues. In addition to uniting our county officials with our local officials, these socials also support locally owned establishments when they are hosted, as this specific pizza social had amazing cookies, and vegan brownies supplied by Elijah’s Promise, located in New Brunswick. These events put our community’s leaders in the same room and allows for a great exchange of ideas. I was pleased to host such a successful event.
